Since 1989, the Association’s housing programs have helped residents rebuild their lives by providing safe and affordable housing, along with access to support groups, advocacy, treatment, legal counseling and other community supports.
When the Association began to develop and operate a continuum of affordable housing in 1989, we only owned 12 housing units. Now the Association owns and manages approximately 650 housing units; 18 apartment complexes, three non-residential properties and six residential programs and services. Our housing is scattered throughout the long-term supportive and independent-living housing in the community.
We are proud to say that in 2012 93% of formerly homeless individuals who entered our housing have not returned to homelessness.
