The stories in “Aged Out — The Rest of the Story” cast a light on the trauma and broken dreams of Oklahomans who grew up in our state’s foster care system. They are the children who never received a stable place to call home, nor the critical life skills to thrive once they “aged out” of the system after turning age 18.
We are awestruck by the lack of public awareness about foster children. We can no longer allow their 18th birthdays to become a one-way trip to the streets. They need and deserve critical preparation and adequate resources to help them make the transition to adulthood.
